Community leader speaks impact of Safe Streets and leadership turnover

May 13, 2023

BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Shantay Jackson is resigning from her post as the leader of the Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement, which is the city agency overseeing the city’s implementation of the Safe Streets program. Jackson announced on May 11 that she will be resigning from her position as director of MONSE, effective June 30.

Jackson's resignation comes as the mayor's summer crime initiative is set to begin.

Yuripzy Morgan, the spokesperson for community group PEACE, joins FOX45 to discuss the impact on Safe Streets. And talk about what this exit and recent turnover say about city leadership.
